Dignity's Hope

It’s a mother’s sacred responsibility to nurture a child’s life. She renews and maintains cultural knowledge with love, dreaming of her child’s future. Honoring the cultural significance, endurance, and adaptation of the bison and the people, her raised Iroquois patterns represent: Strawberry (heart berry); Two-Row wampum (journey side by side); Grandmother Moon (Natural cycles of women); Father Sky (sky dome protects Mother Earth); and the Wind swirls on the baby (bring it strength).

Hand-wrought cut copper assemblage welded in both copper wire and hard silver solder using oxy/acetylene gas. Each hair individually welded and styled; raised symbols- cut, welded, ground and polished.
